Google Maps adds always-available home and work locations for the navigation-needy

Here are the latest reports on Google Maps adds always-available home and work locations for the navigation-needy
Although it’s been true for some time that Google Maps will remember frequent searches as long as you’re signed in to Google, it hasn’t had the option of permanently tagging important places by their familiar names. An update to the web version of Maps now lets you define specific home and work locations that will stay attached to your Google account, no matter how much PC-hopping you do. Along with just speeding up day-to-day direction searches, the locations are particularly handy if you’re staying in a foreign country and don’t yet have the neighborhood committed to heart. The addition should already be live, so you can establish home base at the same time as you’re checking out Chrome 19’s tab syncing.

Berkshire holders reject succession-plan proposal

Here are the latest reports on Berkshire holders reject succession-plan proposal
JOSH FUNK AP Business Writer= OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Berkshire Hathaway shareholders have rejected a proposal that would have required annual updates on how the company is preparing to replace Warren Buffett. The resolution submitted by the AFL-CIO attracted about 32,000 votes while 672,000 votes were cast against the idea. The labor union’s Ken Maas says the group didn’t want Berkshire to publicly identify the 81-year-old Buffett’s successor. It just wanted an annual update on the planning. Buffett says he doesn’t see any need to create a formal report on succession planning because he talks about it in his annual letter to shareholders and in interviews. Plus, the subject regularly comes up at…
Adobe issues security update for Flash player, warns against IE exploit

Here are the latest reports on Adobe issues security update for Flash player, warns against IE exploit
Internet Explorer associated with an exploit? Color us shocked. Facetiousness aside, it’s seriously about time you switched over to Chrome or Firefox (as a mitigation tool; not a foolproof solution), and if you’re a desktop user relying on Flash Player, well… it’s about time you updated that, too. Adobe has just released a security update for Flash Player 11.2.202.233 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and Linux, Adobe Flash Player 11.1.115.7 and earlier versions for Android 4.x, and Adobe Flash Player 11.1.111.8 and earlier versions for Android 3.x and 2.x. We’re told that these updates “address an object confusion vulnerability (CVE-2012-0779) that could cause the application to crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.” Adobe specifically mentions an exploit that targets Flash Player on Internet Explorer for Windows, where a user is duped into clicking on a malicious file delivered in an email message. Hit up the source link for more information on getting your system out of The Danger Zone. Which, conveniently, can be looped as you update with a click after the break.

Sprint Galaxy Nexus updated, kiss your connectivity woes goodbye

Here are the latest reports on Sprint Galaxy Nexus updated, kiss your connectivity woes goodbye
In general, people seem to love their Galaxy Nexuses (or is that Nexii?), but every model has suffered from some form of connectivity problem. The HSPA+ plus model already scored its antidote, now its time for Sprint’s LTE model to get some love. Over the next couple of days a software update (FD02) will be rolling out to the ICS flagships that should solve a rather bothersome bug that kept the devices from connecting to Sprint’s data network after activation… at all. Obviously, you’ll need to connect to a WiFi network to download the update if you’re one of the afflicted, but you get a nice Google Wallet update for your troubles. Now lets get our Big Red Nexii patched up too and we’ll all be happy campers.

Here are the latest reports on PSA: Nintendo 3DS firmware update now live in North America
If your 3DS’ home screen is looking a little too cluttered, then today’s your lucky day. Nintendo is rolling out the firmware update that adds folders to your folder. (You’ve gotta fold the console closed, geddit?) The only other change evident so far is a redesigned eShop interface that makes better use of the screen’s real estate, but pssh, who cares? It’s all about the folders for us.

ASUS Zenbook Primes with 1080p IPS panels and (probably) Ivy Bridge are real, coming to Taiwan in June

Here are the latest reports on ASUS Zenbook Primes with 1080p IPS panels and (probably) Ivy Bridge are real, coming to Taiwan in June
We’ve already seen spec sheets suggesting that ASUS’s 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch Zenbooks are being fattened up for a major update, but now Engadget Chinese has glimpsed the new devices in their cold aluminum flesh. Tentatively called Zenbook Primes, or the UX21A and UX31A respectively, they both have 1920 x 1080 IPS panels with a matte finish and excellent viewing angles (please, ignore the dumb 1024 x 768 screen-saver in the pic, it doesn’t do it justice). Judging from the fact that ASUS refused to let us go hands-on in case we identify the internals, we can be pretty confident that these beauties are running on next-gen ULV Ivy Bridge processors, which — unlike their more powerful brethren — have yet to be formally announced. We asked if there’d be room for discrete graphics, such as one of NVIDIA’s new Kepler mobile GPUs for Ultrabooks, and were told that “anything is possible.” Responses were equally vague when it came to global availability, because apparently the devices are awaitng clearance from Intel. All we know is that they should be out in Taiwan in June, likely with similar price tags to their predecessors.

Here are the latest reports on 3DS firmware update promises folders, less cluttered home screens on April 25th
Are all those ambassador games crowding your 3DS’ home screen? Sit tight, Nintendo’s got a fix. During the outfit’s Nintendo Direct conference livestream, head honcho Satoru Iwata announced that folder organization is coming to the 3DS. Fastidiously organized gamers can expect the firmware update to land on April 25th, bringing with it the joy of creating directories, stuffing them with up to 60 items and ascribing them fitting names. Iwata also detailed a handful of upcoming titles, including New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Tobidase Doubutsu no Mori (or, “Leap out Animal Crossing”) for the 3DS and a Kirby compilation for the Wii. Follow the source link below for a full playback of Iwata’s spiel, or check out Joystiq’s coverage of the event for more details.
